Front Office Hours

Current front office hours are Monday through Wednesday 8 AM - 4 PM, Thursday and Friday 8 AM- 2 PM.

Volunteers

We love our volunteers and we'd love to have you join in! To get started, fill out the volunteer application, read through the state-mandated training slides, and turn in a signed signature sheet stating you've read the training.

Once we've received the completed application and signature sheet, you're ready to start volunteering. If you'd like to get involved in your child's classroom, ask your Class Parent Representative (CPR) what you can do. Some other ways you can help the school is to sign up for Fresh Air Shift and the Lunch Buddies Program. Having parents help on a regular basis in these areas makes a huge difference for our school.

Finally, remember to log your volunteer hours in the front office when you sign in, or on our volunteer tracking form.  We can use these hours when applying for grants!

Idea Submission Form

Do you have a great idea you'd like to see take shape at Peace Valley? Let us know by filling out an Idea Submission Form! The Idea Submissions are read through, considered at the faculty and Family Council committee levels, and responded to within a month.

Family Council

The purpose of the Family Council is to develop community and to facilitate parental involvement in the school’s life and culture. This organization includes all parents and other family members of students attending Peace Valley Charter School. The Family Council consists of a parent coordinator for each class and other members who wish to participate. Monthly meetings provide a means for families to be informed of and involved in festivals, fundraisers, staff appreciation, new family support, and other activities as needed. Peace Valley’s Family Council meets monthly to plan and coordinate efforts to involve families in a vibrant school community. If you'd like to get in touch with the Family Council organizers, you can email familycouncil@boisewaldorf.org.

Family Handbook

Student School Supplies Donations

Peace Valley uses natural, high-quality artistic tools and materials for your child—and provides uniform supplies for all students. These supplies are an integral part of a Waldorf curriculum. Please consider donating to help us cover these costs today. The Annual Donation Form has suggested donations amounts, but any amount is welcome.

  • Waldorf materials are hard-to-find and more expensive than traditional school supplies when purchased independently
  • As a school, Peace Valley can receive a discount when purchasing these supplies in bulk
  • Donations can be made at any time or in multiple payments over time, if necessary.

Money donated is tax-deductible and helps to cover the purchase of: main lesson books (in lieu of textbooks), watercolor paper, beeswax block and stick crayons, modeling beeswax and clay, colored pencils, watercolor paints, brushes, calligraphy pens and paper, knitting yarn, raw wool, Eurythmy shoes, and more.

Any amount donated will assist us with our school supplies for the year. We thank you for your contribution. Donations can be made at any time. Students will receive materials needed regardless of donations received.

Checks can be mailed to PVCS, 1845 S Federal Way, Boise, ID 83705.

General Donations

If you would like to support our school, donations can be made via DonateKindly, or in person with check, cash, or money order. Thank you for ensuring the future of public Waldorf education in the Treasure Valley!

Box Tops for Education (physical collection & phone app)

Collecting box tops is an easy way to ensure the school gets funding consistently. You can clip the Box Tops off the products you buy, as well as scanning them with the app on your phone (doing both gives us double the funding!) Box Tops appear in many unexpected places, including on sock packages during back to school time!

Amazon Smiles

Go to smile.amazon.com/ch/81-4365929 when you make Amazon purchases to have a portion of the proceeds be given to Peace Valley.

Fred Meyer's

If you have a Fred Meyer's reward card, it can easily be linked to our school so that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Peace Valley. Go to fredmeyer.com/communityrewards and search for Peace Valley, #93133 to link the school to your rewards. Once it's linked, the donations will be automatically added to the school's account every time you shop!

Attendance

Here is a link to the Google Form for reporting daily attendance by 10 AM during this season of distance learning.

If you have an an absent day or other attendance event to report, please email attendance@boisewaldorf.org as well as the class teacher and let us know what changes to expect for your child's attendance.

Self Health-Screening

As shared in the School Reopening Plan, a self-screening health question will need to be completed in order “to reduce the spread of infectious disease, including COVID-19”. As an essential measure to know this was completed at home prior to attending in-person learning, this short Google Form will need to be completed for each student for each school day starting this Monday, September 28th. This needs to be completed by 7:30 AM for each school day. This precaution will support reopening our school and provide us a greater opportunity to remain open during these current times. Having your children attend school when healthy and stay home when sick will continue to support our learning community moving forward.

Remote/In Person Learning Switching

To protect the continuity of education of our students, we ask that all children continue in whichever learning model they are in as of Monday, the 26th of October, until after Winter Break. This means that students participating in remote learning on Monday must stay in remote learning and in person learners must remain in person. The exception to this is in situations where the CDH recommends quarantine to avoid the spread of COVID. Thank you!

Mask Exemptions

On Monday, October 19th, our school board approved some updates to our School Reopening Plan which requires a doctor's note from an MD, DO, or NP in order to opt out of wearing a mask while on Peace Valley premises. Read our message to the community for full details regarding this update, its legality, and the reasoning behind it.

Bus Transportation

Peace Valley Charter has contracted with Brown Bus Company for transportation services. If you are interested in your child riding the school bus as a regular means of transportation to and from school, and you haven't already filled out a form, please contact Brown Bus at m.carter@brownbuscompany.com with your Transportation Form. Brown will be verifying eligibility when they receive the application.

General Bus Information

Students who live within Peace Valley’s enrollment boundary will be given priority on the bus. Our bus routes will run mornings and afternoons for the whole school at once, not midday. Thursdays and Fridays the bus will leave the school earlier than the other days because they are our early release days. The bus will not go door to door but will pick up children from safe designated group pickup points (chosen by Brown Bus Company) within our attendance area.

Parents are responsible for the safety of their children before they get on the bus and once they are dropped off. Kindergarten children must have a parent/adult or older child/approved person to meet them at the bus door, or they will be kept on the bus and returned to the school. Once the routes are planned, estimated pick-up drop off times will be published on Brown’s website. Any question regarding bus times or routes should be directed to Brown Bus Company.
