Jenna was raised in McCall, Idaho and spent her childhood outdoors in the lake and the snow. She met her husband Dan in college and moved back to McCall where she spent a decade teaching Spanish at McCall-Donnelly High School. A few years ago, she and her husband decided to make a leap into city life with their young children and they moved to Boise. Jenna filled her time as a stay at home mom volunteering with NeighborWorks, teaching English to refugees, teaching LaunchPad classes at Boise High and most recently held a full-time position at an alternative charter high school in Nampa.
Jenna first learned Spanish in high school where she discovered her love for the language and the culture. She then continued studying Spanish in college at Montana State University -Bozeman and the University of Puerto Rico- Cayey. In 2005, Jenna graduated in with a Spanish teaching major and Art teaching minor (K-12).
Jenna has a love of all things Latin: music, dance, art, culture, cooking, and travel. Jenna has visited several Latin countries including taking groups of students.
Besides travel, Jenna’s favorite activities include reading, painting, drawing, snowboarding, surfing, hiking and biking. She also enjoys camping and the endless adventures with her husband and their two children, Kelby and Jax.
Jenna is excited and grateful to be a part of Peace Valley Charter and is looking forward to teaching Spanish and sharing her love of Latin culture.
