Heather grew up in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. She spent her childhood enjoying family camping trips at the beach and in the mountains. Dance and art were also big influences as a child. A Waldorf education would have been a perfect fit for Heather as a child!
Heather graduated from Washington State University with a BA in Apparel Merchandising, Design and Textiles. She wouldn’t consider herself an expert in pattern making or sewing, but she loves the creativity involved.
After graduation, Heather worked briefly in the fashion industry, but then decided that she wanted to make a difference in the world through teaching. She obtained her Masters Degree in K-8 Education from City University of Seattle.
Heather and her husband moved to Boise in 2012. She has taught in charter and traditional public schools for the past 7 years. Now that Heather is a mother, she understands child development at a deeper level, and is thrilled to continue her teaching journey as a Waldorf educator.
Heather enjoys spending time with her family, camping, running, indoor cycling, attending concerts and cooking.
