From a young age, Haley developed an irresistible passion for traversing and exploring the great outdoors (often to the terror of her mother). What began as an impetuous determination to climb the steepest mountains in Appalachia and spelunk in the deepest caverns of Carter Caves State Park has blossomed into a lifelong adoration of all things green and just beyond the horizon. Ever consumed by wanderlust, Haley has traveled extensively, living on both sides of the United States and in the Caribbean.
Equally passionate about education, she holds degrees from Idaho State University, Florida State University, and Penn State University. In 2012, she founded Maple & Pine ELC, offering families a Waldorf- and Nature-centered preschool program focused on remedying Nature-Deficit Disorder through whole-child early education. Her diverse career in education includes teaching PreK-12 students as well as working in myriad higher education capacities as researcher, sociology instructor, academic advisor, and disability services coordinator. She actively pursues professional training and continuing education in both Waldorf and Forest School methods and is a member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) and Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools (ERAFANS). She also serves as a Board Director and Secretary at another public charter school in Treasure Valley.
Haley started at Peace Valley Charter as our Office Manager during our inaugural year and was promoted to Human Resources and Data Manager in 2019. She is eager to engage in community outreach and education, helping to create a haven in Boise where our families can experience the fulfillment and peace that come from tuning into nature’s rhythms.
