Peace Valley seeks creative, skillful class teachers who love children, enjoy working with parents, and are committed to working with colleagues. Peace Valley is looking for teachers who are lifelong learners and passionate about developing children who are eco-literate, compassionate, and critical thinkers. As a member of the Peace Valley Charter School faculty, you will be joining a group of individuals whose foundation in pedagogy is based on the Waldorf School approach, guided by the principles taught by Rudolf Steiner and by the Core Tenets of Public Waldorf Education.

Our curriculum includes Spanish, handwork, games/P.E., and music. Festivals and celebrations are community-oriented.

Our faculty, individually and as a group, engages in ongoing professional development, study, and self-renewal, which informs and enhances the artistic, academic, and social capacities necessary for bringing the content and delivery of our lessons to the children out of a deep understanding of the curriculum with creativity and enthusiasm.

Teachers in the lower grade levels will loop with their class from 1st - 5th grades with an option to loop through 8th grade.

Teachers in the upper grade level will loop with their class from 6th -  8th grades.


General Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop curriculum collaboratively with colleagues integrating arts, movement, and nature activities and Idaho Content Standards.

  • Facilitate cross curricula instruction

  • Assess individual student learning and development

  • Communicate regularly with students’ families

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and faculty evaluation processes

  • Supervise students

  • Maintain nurturing, peaceful, safe, and positive learning environment

  • Work occurs both indoors and outdoors, including office settings, classrooms, playgrounds, garden, and farm environments during all times and weather conditions of the year.

Candidate will have a valid Idaho State Teaching Certificate or the ability to become certified by State Department of Education. The candidate must be willing to complete training and certification in Waldorf curriculum and methodology if they do not already have a certificate from a recognized Waldorf teacher training program. Our goal is that our faculty will represent the best of both worlds - dual certified with Idaho State teaching credentials and Waldorf certification. Additional interests, skills, and initiative in various areas such as drawing, singing, movement, and drama are also desired.



As a Public Charter School in the State of Idaho, Peace Valley will be eligible for PERSI retirement benefits. Salary will be on par with Department of Education’s career ladder. Peace Valley will provide ongoing professional development to ensure that our teachers seek and practice best teaching methods.
